Storiau Duw

I recently returned from a training event run by Scripture Union in which we focused on the Beattitudes (Mathew 5) We were challenged to think how they conflict with modern values.  I have responded with a series of cartoons that will appear here (this is the first!) The others will not have any comment from me but feel free to ask questions or make comments on any of them (I’ll try to do one a day this week but as I’m away for a couple of days it’s likely that it won’t happen!)  Eventually there will be 8 of them!

Fascinating story here about a Farmer who politely asked Rihanna to stop filming on his land as he believed her video was inappropriate.  Great to see someone making a moral stand in a time when so much seems to just be allowed to go.

Music videos have become more and more risqué in recent years (part of a general media trend).  Hopefuly this Farmer’s stand will make Rihanna think a bit more about what she includes in her videos (and songs!) in future.

Philemon illustrated

After playing around with sketchbook pro I have come up with a fairly basic illustrated version of Paul’s letter to Philemon – I will post it in the next couple of days once I’ve had a chance to look over it an make sure I’m happy with it – may add a couple of extra illustrations but for now here are the main characters (L-R) Onesimus, Philemon, Paul and Aphia.

I have recently been pointed to Chris Powers Animations They are an amazing series of incredibley powerful video animations that accompany worship songs.  Each one tells a story and I am really excited about using them as worship reflections and discussion starters in my Youth groups and in my Church.  You can even download HD versions for FREE if you sign up to Vimeo (which is free also) and go to the vimeo page for his church: Vimeo Page

I finally got round to putting a session down on paper for Storiau Duw!  it works out being the 8th session if you are doing John’s Gospel as one continuous series or the 3rd session of the Holy week series!  For the purposes of the site and lack of confusion it is John session 8!
