1) Who am I?
Need:
- Post it notes
- Pens.
Play:
- Write the name of a celebrity or famous historical character on each post it note.
- Stick a post it note on the back of each young person.
- The youth have to try to work out who they are.
- They may ask each other questions to try to find out who their famous person is – but they may only ask each other person one question.
- Questions may only be answered with Yes, No or I don’t know.
- Once someone knows who they are they must go to the leader and say who they are. If they are right they will be written on the leaders list.
- At the end of the game the leader awards points according to how quickly people worked out who they are e.g. 10 for first, 9 for second etc…
- Anyone caught cheating will get 0 points!
2) Sweet roulette
Need:
- Packet of M&M’s/smarties or any other other sweet that has a variety of different colurs.
Play:
- Write a question for each colour e.g. do you have a pet, what was the last bible story you read.
- Each young person takes turns taking a sweet.
- They must answer the question related to their sweet colour. Then they can eat the sweet.
- You could go round the group a couple of times making them choose a different colour.
- This is a great way to get to know your group and calm them down before a talk/study.
3) After eight challenge
Need:
- Packet of after eight chocolates or equivalent.
Play
- Put an after eight on a young person’s forehead. (Get them to tilt their head back first!)
- The young person must try to get the after eight from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands.
- The young person who manages to do this in the quickest time is the winner.
- For an extra challenge they must turn the after eight wrapper inside out without tearing it.
