I think this single by LZ7 and Matt Redman is a great opportunity to raise awareness of a massive issue and it is great that christians are taking some initiative in raising this issue – something where we can make an impact.
The point of the single is that we can raise awareness of this issue and help those trapped in modern day slavery!

Awesome video by Jeff Bethke he also did the amazingly popular ‘why I hate religion but love Jesus’ video like that one this would work really well as a discussion starter for a session or as a reflection at the end of a session.
I think he is a really gifted communicator although these videos would need some unpacking particularly with uchurched kids.

In case you missed it I’ve been blogging my take on the modern cultural equivalents/diametric opposites to the be-attitudes. This has taken the form of cartoons. If you haven’t seen them yet they’re all here on the blog feed (well me attitudes 1-5 anyway) 6-8 should turn up next week although as I’m away there may be some time lag on them if I can’t get them ready to go before then.
The idea is that you add your comments and start a discussion on how the beatitudes should affect us and how they might put us in conflict with some modern cultural values.
